About Us

Indonesian AID Scholarship is a grant program from Indonesian Government aims to support the achievement of SDGs targets, especially in the education sector. As a reflection of the spirit of the Asia-Africa Summit and South-South Cooperation, the Indonesian AID scholarship will develop skills and expertise of the future leader from Indonesia's partners countries. It acts as a soft diplomacy to strengthen cooperation and friendship among partner countries through the development of human resources between countries.

The Indonesian AID Scholarship offers a scholarship program for associate degree, bachelor degree, professional education, and also master's degree for government officials and/or individuals recommended to work in the Government sector under the grant policy regulations.

This scholarship offers an unforgettable educational experience in Indonesia through studying at a well-known university and polytechnic as well as living experience in a multicultural and multilingual country. By getting this scholarship, students will enhance their intellectual standing, develop their competencies, and open wider professional opportunities, a foundation for post-college success.

APPLICATION INFORMATION

Program Objective

Creating and developing high-skilled future leaders in the area of public service and public policy.
Enhance socio, economic and cultural understanding.
Strengthen the relationship and cooperation between countries.

Study Programs

The scholarship is open for countries in grantee priority areas under Foreign Affairs Ministrial Decree Number 15/2020.

As the scholarship is targeted for Civil Servants or recommended officials in selected countries, the selection process will be carried out in selective manner. There will be a wide range of program study in Indonesian top universities and polytechnic offered to civil servants and recommended officials from targeted countries.

Procedure

The Indonesian Government submits request to Indonesian Embassy or Consulate General in targeted countries to provide proposed name of students.
Foreign governments submit recommendations of the proposed students to the Indonesian Embassy.
The Indonesian Embassy inputs selection documents to website.
The selection process consist of administrative and academic test.
The prospective students will be delivered to the selected campus and the campus will conduct the selection process that should include online interview and any related tests with the potential candidates.
Awardee candidates will be contacted by the Indonesian Embassy to make final confirmation Publishing final selection result through website

During the application process, please pay close attention to some Important information below:

Submit the selection criteria to the Indonesian Embassy.
Indonesian Embassy will complete the online application process
Directorate General of Higher Education, MoECRT will carry out administrative selection
Conduct the academic selection process with the targeted university
The Selection Results will be broadcasted online through the Indonesian AID Website and officially announced through the Indonesian Embassy publication network;
We strongly suggest you to collect as many information as possible on the universities and your desired study program.
Please be advised that once you are admitted, changing either the universities or your study program is strictly prohibited
The recommendation letter from Indonesian Embassy is mandatory. The recommendation letter will be issued based on verification and necessary background and/or security checks conducted by the Indonesian Embassy
All the required documents have to be written or officially translated In English.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Indonesian Language Training Preparatory Program

An Indonesian Language (Bahasa) course is a compulsory for all Indonesian AID students as they will obtained BIPA Level 1 Certificate upon their study completion. The Bahasa course will be provided by each University or polytechnic. Preparatory program (matriculation) prior to the academic program will be arranged in accordance with the university’s policy and planning program.

Buddy Program

The Buddy Program is an assistance program for foreign students, providing both academic and non-academic support with the aim of helping them accelerate their study progress as well as their adaptive ability in Indonesian environment.

Cross Cultural Program

The students will be exposed to first hand experience on Indonesian multicultural and multilingual activities during their studying period i.e. International Student Day

Academic Program

The maximum length of scholarship disbursement:

4 semesters for Master Degree program;
8 semesters for Bachelor Degree program;
8 semesters for Associate Degree equivalent to Bachelor Degree Program; and
6 semesters for Associate Program.

In order to successfully complete the program, it isimportant for all the awardees to consistently produce a good academic performance by developing a can do attitude, stay focus, as well as being punctual, and discipline.

STUDY PROGRAM

Associate Program: Maximum 6 semesters (3 years program) or Maximum 8 semesters (4 years program) for Associate Equivalent to Bachelor Degree
Bachelor Program: Maximum 8 semesters (4 years program)
Master Program: Maximum 4 Semesters (2 years program)

REQUIREMENT

Associate/Bachelor Degree

Officially nominated by the Government of the Priority State.

Willing to return and serve in their home country for a minimum of 2 (two) years after completing the study.

Possess citizenship status from the priority state.

Not registered as an active military member.

Not currently or will be undergoing military service until the end of the academic period.

Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a government employee in their country

Have an active passport with a minimum validity of 18 months from the registration date.

The maximum age is 25 years old in the current July.

Proficient in the use of the English language. For non-English speaking countries, it is mandatory to attach a TOEFL ITP certificate with a minimum score of 477 or IELTS with a minimum score of 5.5 (prediction tests such as englishtest.duolingo.com or others are allowed). This requirement does not apply to countries that use English as the medium of instruction or departments that use Indonesian as the medium of instruction.

Hold a high school diploma.

Provide a certificate of employment in the government sector or equivalent documents for those already working.

Attach a letter/document confirming good conduct and/or a clear criminal record from the relevant local authorities.

Physically and mentally healthy, as evidenced by a health certificate from a doctor.

Master Degree

Officially nominated by the Government of the Priority State.

Willing to return and serve in their home country for a minimum of 2 (two) years after completing the study.

Possess citizenship status from the priority state.

Not registered as an active military member.

Not currently or will be undergoing mandatory military service until the end of the academic period.

The maximum age is 40 years old in the current July.

Preferably have a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a government employee in their country.
